The delegation headed by the Director of International Relations of Inria, Cécile Vigouroux, visited Chile to see the facilities of Inria Chile and meet with our strategic partners in the country.

On November 20th and 21st, the delegation made up of the Director of International Relations of Inria, Cécile Vigouroux, the scientific director of the Inria Foundation and president of the board of directors of Inria Chile, Claude Puech, and the person in charge for the Americas of Inria's International Relations Department, Claire Saint-Léger.

For a week, the delegation visited the facilities of Inria Chile, learned in detail about the projects that are being carried out in the country and met with various actors from the Chilean ecosystem, deepening institutional relations with the aim of promoting scientific collaboration between France and Chile.

On Monday, November 22nd, the delegation was received at the French Embassy in Chile, where a meeting was held with the Ambassador, Pascal Teixiera da Silva. Later during the day, the delegation held a series of meetings at the offices of Inria Chile.

The next day, accompanied by Inria Chile’s team, the delegation visited the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (FCFM) of the University of Chile, where they met with the Dean, Francisco Martínez Concha, the Academic and Research Director, Marcela Munizaga , the Director of External Relations, Luis Vargas, and Cecilia Bastarrica, Director of the Department of Computer Science.

During this meeting, the international mobility agreement was renewed for three more years, allowing students from the Faculty to carry out research internships in Inria, France. In addition, possible new research initiatives on common themes between both institutions, such as artificial intelligence, were discussed. The day concluded with a visit to the Mathematical Modeling Center and the Open Beauchef facilities, the Faculty's innovation and entrepreneurship center.
