An Associate Team is a joint research project established between an Inria project-team and an overseas research group for a three-year period. Together, the two partners define a scientific objective that delivers clear added value for each side, a research plan, and a program of bilateral exchanges.

Within the Franco-Chilean Binational Centre on Artificial Intelligence, an initiative operated by Inria Chile, Associate Teams will be selected in line with the Centre’s priority areas:

  • AI Evaluation
  • Generative AI and Fundamental Models
  • AI for Science and other Sciences for the development of AI
  • Frugal and Embedded AI

Inria will fund between €7,000 and €11,000 per Associate Team each year—up to €33,000 over the three-year term—to support:

  • Mobility between France and the partner country for researchers, engineers, post-doctoral fellows, PhD candidates and interns:

    • between France and the partner country;

    • between the partner country and France;

  • The organization of workshops.
